Hailing from the rocky hills of Kalamunda, up and coming quartet Dolce Blue emerge with their second single of 2021, Dream Catcher. The track is a gorgeous slice of alt-pop, and their strongest release to date.
Driven by the entrancing vocals of Veronica Zurzolo and backed by the breezy, summery melodies of fellow band members Lachy, Daniel and Brody, the four piece produce a beautiful sound reminiscent of earlier works from Alvvays and Best Coast. Lyrically, Dream Catcher paints a much more serious picture, exploring the feelings that accompany reminders of unwanted experiences and/or people.
“The hardest part of leaving is you drove me away/It’s easy to forget about til’ someone says your name”, declares Zurzolo, but we won’t be forgetting about Dolce Blue anytime soon. If this track - along with February's Summerwave - are a sign of things to come, we can't wait to hear what they have in store for us with their upcoming sophomore album.
Dream Catcher is out TODAY, available on Bandcamp and all major streaming services, via Blue Grey Pink.
